Diet and blood sugar levels
Allulose StoreThe graph shows the effect of three different diets (fasting, low-carb diet, and Western diet) on blood sugar levels over a 24-hour period (measured in mg/dl and mmol/L).
Western diet
This causes the highest and most fluctuating blood sugar levels, especially in the periods following meals (typically large spikes are seen around 2 and 12 o'clock).
Carbohydrate-free diet
With this diet, blood sugar levels are much more stable and lower than with the Western diet, but a slight increase can still be observed after eating.
Fasting
In this case, blood sugar levels remain the lowest and most stable throughout, and there is no significant increase in blood sugar levels in the absence of meals.
Summary
Fasting and a low-carb diet result in much more stable and lower blood sugar levels, while the Western diet causes significant blood sugar fluctuations throughout the day.
Based on this, these alternative diets may be more beneficial than the Western diet in terms of stabilizing blood sugar levels.
